Practice

Tonight was our second practice, the first I forgot my camera and this time they didn't turn out well. Aunt Kelly to the rescue...she emailed me some great ones. She was is so prepared for t-ball! Go team Mom!!! Kyler did well at bat and pretty well in the field tonight, he is starting to go after the ball which is an improvement but none of them can really catch. He was losing is attention about 20ish minutes before practice was over tonight. It is rough waiting on everyone to get a turn at bat! He sure does have fun out there and we have fun watching. We have our first scrimmage on Monday night, practice Tuesday and another scrimmage on Thursday! Welcome to the world of youth sports..........

Mandy just really enjoys being out there with Gage and cheering Bubba on! It doesn't hurt that she has a hand me down glove from Alex to carry around...just don't ask her to put it on!

T-Ball "Parent's Meeting"

Tonight we had our Parent's meeting for Kyler's T-ball team. Coach Lopez seems to be very good, he learned his patience in coaching with soccer so he knows what to expect and thinks this will be "interesting". Coach filled us in on all the parent rules...no yelling at the kids (unless you are at home) :), no cursing, only positive reinforcement, and we will get schedules, uniforms etc later. The kids got to run around the field together until we were finished talking and then Coach had them run a little and talked some. If they don't behave...they don't play. You gotta love it! Another trusted grown up telling them to go to bed so they can rest and to listen to their parents. It is great! Mandy and Gage were out there giving their best sibling support and running too. This will be a fun adventure.

Sleepover with Grammy

This weekend Mandy got to have her first sleepover all by herself...no Bubba! Boy did she have fun with Grammy and Poppy. Grammy asked to get some "Mandy time" and who would I be to say no? I am so glad I did. It was a little hard for Kyler to understand why Mandy was getting to go and he wasn't (normally it is the other way around) but he came around...Poppy had a REALLY hard time telling him no though. These are some pictures from Grammy and Poppy.

What a little lady...

This afternoon Mandy squatted and said "pee pee Mama". We didn't make it in time but we were close, thank goodness she isn't really potty training so she is in diapers. However, she refused another diaper and wanted to wear big girl panties! OH MY GOSH! What do I do? So, I let her wear them while telling her she really had to tell us pee pee if she wears them...like she would get it right? She did and in the middle of dinner so we ran across the house and we sang and she went! A true I told ya so Mama moment. And Bubba was there to cheer her on the entire adventure, what a good brother!

Okay, officially a grown up...

Today I turned 31 and I don't feel sad just a little weirded out by the fact that this is the age I feel like I am officially a grown up. I know it sounds weird but my 20s are officially over. I don't feel "older" as Uncle Richard puts it but now it's like I am now one of the "untrustworthy grown ups". Strange how perspectives change. I received lots of love and well wishes and thank everyone for remembering my birthday. I also got a wonderful birthday dinner last night from Daddy (aka Paw Paw) and tonight from Aunt Kelly, saturday I will get another from Mama (aka Grammy). It sure is nice to have family close by and a family that loves each other.

Backyard fun...

Tonight we went out to play in the backyard. Kyler and Daddy played catch to get ready for T-ball while Mandy and Mama blew bubbles, she is getting very good. Then Kyler and Mama played soccer with a playground ball while Mandy chased us. And ofcourse we ended on the swings, their backyard favorite. Kyler has mastered the art of pumping his legs to continue swinging after we get him started. It wasn't as dark out as it looks but the camera did the best it could.

Go Cowboys!

Last night Kyler conned Daddy into letting him watch the first Cowboys' game of the season. Kyle said it was meant to be for him to watch football with his son (Gag!). Atleast Mandy was already asleep so she couldn't be offended. Nice to see them spending some male bonding time either way.

First Day of Sunday School?

Yeah right, Kyler and Mandy woke up hacking so Daddy says "You aren't taking them to church like that!" O well Kyler will just have to start a week late....now if we can just get Daddy up!

Big Day....

Today was a big day for all of us. We started with breakfast with Grammy and then Mama and Grammy went to a great sample sale and found some really good deals on fall clothes. Then we got "prettied up" to go to Gran's family reunion and had a wonderful visit with everyone. There is a picture of Mandy in one of the most adorable outfits yet and she danced in her pretty dress and boots (only to rough it up with the big kids later). She loves shoes and dresses but it doesn't stop her from getting down and dirty too. Kyler loves to stick one foot out and ask "How do I look?" each time we get dressed up to go somewhere and if your answer is anything but handsome he says "No, I'm handsome!". Soo much fun. All the little ones were ready for a nap so off we went with a pit stop at Target and Uncle Shawn and Aunt Kelly's Arlington house (naps along the way). After all that we went home and Alex, Austin and Gage came to play while the Daddies did some work. Hopefully they wore themselves out from a late nap. The kids had so much fun riding on bikes, coloring with sidewalk chalk and running the batteries dead on anything that had one!

T-Ball!!!!!

Look out AYA here we come! Kyler, Austin and Alex are officially signed up for T-ball. And we are told they will all be on the same team. Who knows what coach is brave enough to take them on but we will have a large crew to cheer them on. We will have more details after the 15th.

Incredible...

Today Mrs Kaci brought an Incredibles costume for Kyler to see if he would like to wear it for halloween and he loves it so much he wanted to wear it right away and did. He then proceeded to tell us that Austin needed his help because he was a Superhero! This is such a hilarious age. I stopped on the way home to get Mandy a costume with my coupon for 20% off but it just fits her now so I will have to take it back for a bigger size. Probably for the best because she isn't feeling great today and therefore isn't too interested in dressing up. She did however want to wear boots like Bubba. Sorry Mandy, you have outgrown your boots...

Hep A shortage...

This is what happens when I cannot do something and have to ask Kyle to take care of it. Mandy was supposed to have her 18 month check up today, Daddy couldn't take her today so he rescheduled her for OCTOBER!!! Yep so really she will just have a 19 month check up. I guess we will have 2 years and a month too. Apparently, they only get the Hep A shot at 18 months and there is a national shortage for it so this appointment snafoo will not effect her next appointment. Thank goodness, I can barely keep up with them when they are on time much less if we are behind.

"Magic" Markers...

Grammy met us for our craft class yesterday. Yesterday's Tiny Tots was making a frame with color magic markers that create all kinds of fun colors as you go. They had so much fun, Kyler asked to make a dinosaur and Mandy asked for a turtle. Grammy even got them each a wooden version of their creations to paint at home. Afterwards, they weren't ready to leave Grammy so we walked through Ross together and Grammy got Kyler a Spiderman scooter that was on sale and got Mandy some shoes, a purse and a coat. Too cute. Mandy tried to make off with a little hispanic boy while trying on her new shoes and holding her purse. No, she didn't get far. We were right there with her.
