Daddy's Injury

Playing football with Uncle Shawn last night Daddy hopped into the house with an injured ankle. This morning he couldn't even stand on it to get out of the bed! So I took the morning off and at 6:30 this morning we were off to the ER....Twisted ligament and he is off work for the week. He is frustrated because now he is having to take time off for an injury that he could have "walked off" a few years ago. I reminded him that he is that many years older and a few pounds heavier these days :) he is taking it like a champ though...if only I could be sure he really was using his crutches!

Last night...

Last night we went out to dinner with Paw Paw and Grandma Sarah to celebrate his hard work and Kyle and I's anniversary. Paw Paw took us to Reata's for dinner! Yep, I know good food. Something we could never go to ourselves...How did we pull that off? A grown up dinner the first one in almost 5 years? Grammy and Poppy! I asked Grammy and Poppy to keep them while we went to dinner and Poppy said just leave them and ya'll go celebrate your anniversary! It makes me feel so good to know that they love us and our kids enough to do that at the spur of the moment. Grammy's neighbor got Mandy a baby doll bed (in the picture) and they rented Surf's Up for Kyler to watch (apparently Not good). We were off to celebrate so...
Thank you Grammy and Poppy! Congratulations Daddy (Paw Paw)!

Proud moment

When I found out I was having a daughter, I cried, I cried for two reasons...First, I didn't know I wanted one until they told me I was getting her and two what the hell was I going to do with a girl? I know little of "girly" things and wouldn't know what to do with her hair! Well, I have learned A LOT on both accounts with Mandy and here is my proud hair moment...Thank God for blessing me with her in my life.

Enjoying the weather...

Lately it has been so pretty outside that we aren't inside much in the evenings. I love that about this time of year. All the neighbors are out and playing and visiting. We are watching the neighbor's daughter wed, thur, fri of this week and this is what they did pretty much every afternoon...front or backyard didn't matter as long as they were outside they were happy!

May's Dance Performances

Mandy's dance schedule is in...
She has her Cinco de Mayo performance Friday, May 2nd and dancers have to be there by 6:10pm. I believe the event starts around 6:30pm. Call if you want directions because you can make it. Her second and (hopefully) final spring performance is Saturday, May 10 and dancers arrive at 8:15 AM! Yes in the morning....YUCK! If you are available let me know and I will give you directions for that one too. However, that one will most likely overlap with Kyler's 10 am t-ball game that day.........yes, same day. I am hoping to video both so we get to see both.

Whatever will I do?

Mandy is off to a girls slumber party next door, Kyle and Kyler are off to go fishing...time to myself??? What's that?

Thank you Nana and Buddy!

Kyler got his first present for his fast approaching 4th birthday today from Nana and Buddy. He was so excited to get it in the mail and then to pull all the stuff out was just too much fun. Thanks Nana and Buddy!

Last minute sleepover...

Austin and Alex stayed with Kyler last night and they played hard. Kyler just loves being able to "work us" for a slumber party at the last minute. It is kind of cute to listen to them plot for it. As long as Kyle and I aren't working the next morning we enjoy having them here and are not likely to say no. Everyone woke up in a good mood and played until it was time to get ready for t-ball.

No pictures for this one!

Okay, everyone should get a good laugh over this. Mandy had to go potty tonight and FELL ASLEEP on the potty! Yep, she played so hard this weekend that she fell asleep on the potty. Now I believe I have seen a toddler fall asleep anywhere.

The end of a great time...

Aunt Lisa came to pick Sydney up this afternoon and I am SURE she fell asleep on the way home! They had so much fun. We got up watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...ate breakfast...played...went to Walmart...played in the backyard and then she had to explain to Mandy why she had to go home. She thought Sydney should stay, didn't quite understand that sleepovers have to end sometime.

Sydney is here!

Today Grammy brought Sydney down for a sleepover with Kyler and Mandy. Oh the excitement!! Sydney is the HIT of Alvarado...when she got here we met up with everyone just in time for snacks at the end of t-ball (ofcourse we couldn't leave until Grammy fixed Mandy's hair just like Sydney's) and Kyler talked Grammy into treating us to lunch at Waffle House (I am sure this was a first for Sydney). We got all the car seats situated in Uncle Kyle's truck and were off to the park. Nothing like a beautiful spring day to feed the ducks and play on the playground. Sydney had an instant follower in Mandy and best friend in Alex. She and Kyler climbed everything there was to climb and everyone had a great time playing. Uncle Shawn, Daddy, Kevin and myself enjoyed watching and counting heads at all times. At this point my camera died so there aren't pictures of playing at home after but know that they had just as much fun in the backyard and playroom.

T-ball Game

Well, yesterday we had our first of MANY Saturday morning games and we were excited to see grandparents show up to cheer! Grammy, Poppy, Gran, Papa, Nana Geri and Paw Paw Mike all showed up to watch and yell for our little Rangers. Gran and Papa brought Megan with them and Mandy and Alex enjoyed having her to show the ropes of our baseball fields. It was nice to be able to focus on the game with Grandparents there to watch Mandy, Alex and Gage.

Happy Birthday Gage!

The last of our six is now two! Wow, it just amazes me how fast they grow. We all gathered at Chuck E Cheese to celebrate and the kids thought it was great...the adults all vowed never to do that again (smile). Talk about chaos!

UPS Check

Today was our school pep rally for the 5th grade Math TAKS. Our team "utilized our resources" (Thanks Nana Geri) and got UPS shirts and visors. We had a lot of fun and all the Math teachers are begging me to get one for them too! The kids had a good time and made the connection between the strategy we teach and the shirts we wore in spirit for them. It was neat to see.

Boy's turn...

Yep, tonight was the boys turn to work the concession stand for AYA! Somehow they conned Kevin into helping (poor guy). But they were working hard and it was pretty funny to see them tell people the hot dogs weren't ready yet :) Daddy's first comment was "You just couldn't leave us alone could ya!" Ofcourse not...We had to see the master at work ... RIGHT! It was good since I only saw him for about 2 minutes from the time I got home to the time he ran out the door. I was lucky to make it in time. Thanks to Aunt Kelly for the pictures and asking us to tag along even though we couldn't stay too long.
