Trick or Treat 2007

This Halloween the entire Goulding family along with Grammy and Poppy came down for trick or treating at our house. It was so much fun to do this together and the cousins had the best time from the pizza to the playing to the trick or treating. Not a single melt down. They are surely growing up. Mandy crashed before everyone left, Kyler shortly after with the assistance of three of his favorite books. Thanks to Aunt Kelly for the decorations for which Mandy's response was "WOW!" And thanks to Aunt Erica, Aunt Kelly and Grammy for sending me pictures, I will be getting a new camera soon...like it or not.

OGDOR 07

One Great Day of Reading 2007 aka OGDOR is what happens at my school on Halloween. We spend the day reading to the kids. It is a wonderful and tiring experience. This is my team of teachers...care to guess our costumes? The Social Studies book...and characters within. All teachers are supposed to dress up as story book characters for the occasion and we are historical figures that our students should learn about in US History. (Our social studies course). Betsy Ross, Abe Lincoln, Pilgrim girl, and Ben Franklin.

Fall festival

Today was a big day! Gran, Papa, PawPaw and Grandma Sarah came down to watch Kyler's t-ball game in Joshua. Gran and Papa are the only ones who didn't get lost getting there. Fun game, then we came back and had a family lunch and hair cut session. Thanks Gran! The boys look very handsome. Grammy came down tonight to rescue me so that the kids could play at the AYA fall festival while I worked the Penny Pitch game. Oh what fun. We all had fun and the kids looked so cute with the tshirts from Aunt Karen and the Halloween bow I made for Mandy. Yes, I made it. I guess I do have a little crafty in me. I made one for Megan and Alex too so the girls can wear them trick or treating. I thought they turned out well for my first venture into loopy bows.

Today is the annual Georgia vs. Florida game. Mandy is ready to cheer them on! GOOOOO Dawgs!

Okay so I am a little late because pictures were Tuesday but what can I say. The one the photographer got was much better because she actually got a smile. But for the sake of the memory here is Kyler's first T-ball picture with his favorite thing....the BAT!

Mama Mornings...

Some mornings are just more difficult than others when it comes to getting out the door to go to work. Lately I have been waking Kyler at 6:00am so that he will nap and go to bed at a decent hour. With the addition of t-ball some would think it would wear him out and he would sleep better ... not Kyler... t-ball is like a rush of adrenaline wiring him up for hours! We are now beginning to see a light in the tunnel with going to bed at nights. Mandy on the other hand crashed either way, she sleeps like her Daddy. (For now) With Kyler getting up earlier Mandy is starting to wake up on her own. Not a problem, but with all the morning love I get it sure is painful to leave them and go to work. I miss them every day and can't wait to hear "Mama's home!" When I come in the door in the afternoon as they run up to hug me or jump out from behind counters or couches t surprise me. We all have our moments but right now I just have great kids!

Who needs a pumpkin patch?

Well, the pumpkin patch was a little pricey this year so we took the invitation to go do pumpkin fun at Nana Geri and Papaw Mike's house. It is so much fun to see the kids get to enjoy these things together.

BIG competition

At Thursday night's T-ball game they threw us a curve ball. We were going to have a game Friday night too. (Not on our schedule) Most of the team was able to be there but the competition was HUGE. They were all 6&7 year olds and had obviously played before. The only team we have seen like this in T-ball. In the opinion of our team coach and parents they should have been in coach pitch. It wouldn't have been so bad but some of the parents were definitely NOT good sports. It was a little disturbing to see a 6 year old stand on the base so that a 3 year old couldn't get to the base and then throw dirt in that 3 year old's face. With no correction from any parent. Kyler had a true funny in that while running to second the ball came between his feet so he picked it up and threw it to second (if there were outs he would have gotten himself out). All worth it in fun. Atleast the coach from the other team was cool. We find comfort and fun in the fact that this is the only team we have encountered with this type of attitude.

Day off

Surprise Day Off...

Today Grandma Cindy needed the day off to take care of her sister. So....without a backup here we are. Ofcourse, the first thing out of Daddy's mouth was since you will be home go get your oil changed! We did with a pit stop at one of our local dollar stores (grin). All is well, the kids are a little thrown off but we are having fun.

Busy day...

Saturday Mandy woke up whistling when she breathed. I know that I am not a first time mom anymore but two things still make me freak out.....high fevers and breathing trouble. So, needless to say I worried. I know it is probably related to so many minor things but we ended up giving her breathing treatments again this weekend. She is still coughing and a little less snotty but the whistle is gone. She does still have a little wheeze so we may take her in tomorrow. This morning we got a call the Uncle Rick and Aunt Karen were coming by for a visit and that went well and we all ended going for lunch, the food was good but the bathrooms not so much. When Mandy asked to go pee pee I told her she was wearing a diaper so to go in it or wait until we got home! I don't normally do it but little girls and some public potties just aren't going to work for me. Then we went to Aunt Kelly and Uncle Shawn's house for playdate with Neriah, Morgan and Josh. We had burgers and Morgan brought cupcakes! A great way to hit it off with kids. They were good, thanks for thinking of it Morgan. And thanks Kelly for dinner. The kids had fun as always playing and carrying on. It took Neriah a few minutes to get adjusted to the other kids but before long she was off and running too. All in all a good visit.

Game #2

Here we go...As long as we are having evening games, pictures will be few and far between. They just aren't coming out. O well. The kids are having soooo much fun. Kyler played hard and played in the dirt hard...yes, the dirt! But we played a team with 3 kids younger than our youngest (the Gouldings). Wow, we thought we had youngens...these babies just turned 3. They were sooo cute. Nana Geri, Paw Paw and Auntie Em showed up to support us and cheer the little ones on. It was great to see them and Kyler came by to wave to Paw Paw every chance he got and was making eyes at Nana Geri! This (as difficult as it is) is such a FUN age. Gotta love em.

Our First Game...GO LITTLE INDIANS!!!

Tonight was our first real T-ball game. Oh, man what fun. The kids had a blast and so did the grown ups. Daddy learned how to not tense up until after the game so he relaxed and actually enjoyed being out there with them. The team played very well...we learned the rules (apparently they don't have outs nor do they keep score - hmm). But we won anyways. Our team really started to learn and you could see it happen when they made 3 outs in the second inning. There were only 2 innings since they let each team get through the batting order in every inning, but they did it! The Goulding's were sporting our shirts courtesy of Aunt Kelly's awesome planning and all the parents wanted to know how to get one too. Good job Kelly. We are starting to get to know each other and the kids and everyone is learning new lessons everytime we practice or play. Austin and Kyler were great and unfortunately Alex was injured (not t-ball related) so she couldn't play but by the end of the game she really wanted to. Gage and Mandy had fun with Gatorade and played with me and Grammy Gwen. GO TEAM!

The new lease...

This weekend we went out to see the new deer lease that Daddy got on. He wanted to check it out and see what he would need to do. It is a drive for sure but the whole family can go because it is literally less than 10 minutes from Aunt Kelli and Uncle Steven's house. So we go and play while daddy goes to hunt. We had a good time. Mandy was a real "treat" the first night...sorry Uncle Steven. The kids played well with only minor squirmishes. It was a nice visit. There aren't pictures of the lease but of the kids playing...we need to get Daddy a camera.

18 months?? No.....19

Well, we are a month late but Mandy had her check up today and weighed 25 pounds. Kyle said she is yea tall, Kyle terms for I forgot. Her head is huge still at 19 3/4 inches around and she is doing great!

Go Little Indians!!!!!

Tonight was our first scrimmage and oh the chaos. We learned that we are not the smallest team but we are definitely not a big team. All the parents available were out there helping and Grammy, Gran and Papa came to cheer us on. Mandy and Gage were great supporters in the stands and behaved GREAT! The big kids had fun and are learning a lot. We all still have a lot to learn about T-ball and Coach Lopez is awesome. We appreciate all his patience. Aunt Kelly aka Team Mom did a great job keeping up with the "line up" and snacks after the game. Daddy and Uncle Shawn were Assistant Coaching like pros...I think they were all more tired than the kids after the game.

Science Day at the Zoo...

Today we went to Science Day at the Dallas Zoo. Kyler and Mama got to do activities (he won coins and I won stamps). At the end of the day we each turned our rewards in for a prize...him a blow up elephant and me a certificate for 4 CPE hours! Daddy and Mandy came and got to see animals and we all ate ice cream.
