Bye Bye tonsils and adenoids
Yesterday morning my two tough little kiddos had their tonsils and adenoids removed. This is truly something nervewracking! You logically know that all will be fine but the Momma in you never relaxes until you see it for yourself. They were real troopers. Before going in to surgery they got to visit with Grammy, Poppy, Paw Paw, Grandma Sarah and Papa. This was nice ( for all of us )! Our children's hospital is truly amazing, there is a special place in heaven for these people. Mandy got her giggly juice first and Paw Paw told her it was a laser for her to bzing everyone with, this got more and more silly the more time passed. She lasered all of us and when the nurses came to take her back she got a little teary but I walked with her to turn the corner where a group of nurses clapped and cheered for her....she went right to sleep when they gave her her cotton candy mask. Kyler was next to get his giggly juice and was much calmer but was fascinated by the heat sensitive chalkboard by his bed and was winking at nurses! We heard "Did he just wink at you?" "I think he did!" "How precious" followed by lots of giggles and a few "Atta boys" from grandpas in the room. Post surgery the doctor told us that they both had very large tonsils/adenoids but that Mandy's were a little bigger especially for the size of her little throat. And let me tell you she is one tough cookie!! She woke up and barely fussed, when the nurses asked her which smiley face showed how her throat felt (their pain scale) she OFCOURSE chose the happiest looking one. The nurses weren't sure to believe her and looked at me so I tried and she picked the next one over a 1 on the lowest end of the scale. At no point has she complained of pain, ofcourse we are staying on top of the meds too. Kyler came back coughing and had finished an entire popsicle before even getting to us! He rested well and struggled a little with the coughing. They gave the kids some pain medication before we left and when taking the "noodle" out of their arms Miss Mandy didn't even flinch! Ofcourse she and Grandparents were playing with the bed controls and she was ready to do whatever to go home, the meds make her VERY silly. All the nurses were trying not to let her see them laughing. Kyler is just my snuggle bug, what a special boy. They loved the wagon ride to the car and since Mandy got in hers first she immediately asked if bubba was getting one too. All in all they are doing very well and I am glad we are in the recovery stage.

4th of July 2010
We had a great July 4th celebrating at the lake with family and friends! Great day of play and fireworks. Especially enjoyed having Nana and Buddy join us this year! So thankful they were able to come visit. The kids all painted fireworks shirts and put red and blue wax in their hair to show their spirit.

Vacation (minus the hubby) 2010
Unfortunately Kyle's approved vacation this year is the week I return to work...UGGG! So, I drove to east Texas picked up my bff and her kids (+1) and drove to St. Simons Island. I will pick a few pictures to represent and then add a separate post for the "posed" beach pictures. All in all a fantastic and much needed get away! OK...I can't pick...off to slide show...

Us time...
I know, not a great picture but it is special! This is right before we got to go on a grown up weekend trip to float the river. Much needed time for us and we loved every second so Kyle pulled his trick and took a picture of us before we left. Otherwise we left the camera home and just enjoyed the weekend.
Special Moments
Sleepover with the BIG girls
Before we left for vacation Mandy got to have a sleepover with her big girl friends/cousins. This was great and she really felt like a big girl even when they were "mothering" her. They are a great group of girls and we love them all. They played hard, made bracelets and we baked orange and purple muffins for breakfast. So much fun!
VBS 2010
So, the kids LOVED VBS this year, Mandy actually is old enough to attend and got to be in Mrs. Pennock's group! For those who don't know she was Kyler's Kinder teacher and Mandy swore anytime Mrs. Monica was out that Mrs. Pennock was her sub. She loves Mrs. Pennock. She was sleeping over with Sydney on the last night so I only have Kyler in the final pictures. Thank GOD for our fabulous church.
