Another first.....

Mandy had another "first" today. Only today's first unfortunately isn't a happy one. She has her first ear infection! After 4 nights from "you know where" we decided there was something WRONG with our girl, since she has slept through the night since she was about 5 weeks old. We were right, ear infection in her right ear. And she is just like her brother, no tugging on ears or fevers to let us know.....just VERY sleepless nights. Atleast now we know and have our first antibiotic. Good old faithful amoxocilin (spelling?). POOR BABY!!!

Rub a Dub Dub.......5 Gouldings in a Tub

Okay, I know the sound is scary but it really is cute. All 5 cousins wanted in the tub for a bath. Aunt Kelly just needed about 20 more minutes to unload groceries so......here is the result. Daddy washed and Uncle Shawn dried and dressed. It was an extremely efficient routine that they have down to an art!

While sister is napping, brother will play! I decided to let Kyler play in the snow. He ofcourse had to take his tractor with him to show me how it can shovel snow just as well as it shovels dirt...the minds of 2 year olds. We wrote his name in the snow and like any good brother wanted to write Mandy's name too. So cute. Below is the clip of him walking around their names singing his abc's. It is hard to hear when his back is to me and ofcourse silly mama filmed it sideways....SORRY. But I still LOVE IT!!!

Snow Day.....In Texas?

 

 

Today we are "snowed in". Unbelievable to have this kind of weather again. Schools are closed (rarely happens) so Mama gets to stay home with us today. This is the view from our front door and us snugglin' up in our sweats.

Today we are iced in...even Daddy didn't attempt to drive to work. We were all surprised at this. After breakfast we took our little icicles outside to slide around for a couple of minutes. Mandy (like her Mama) thought it was too cold but Kyler thought it was all too much fun, especially running from Daddy. Like most two year olds he refused to believe us that it was too slippery to run, hence the picture of him on his back. Thank goodness Daddy was there and he was fine. He did WALK back holding Daddy's hand though.

Mandy's New Best Friend

Well, we finally figured out how to slow Mandy down when she is eating...bring in Windy! Yes, the dog. They just love eating together, Windy gets more and Mandy eats less and still says finished when ready to get down and play. Who knew this arctic blast locking us in would show us such a revelation. Her latest new trick are to just stand on her own ... until someone sees her ... and to say "HI". It must be a favorite word for now because we hear it constantly, especially to her brother.

Baseball Fan for our little Baseball Fan....

Well, I know it is a little cheesy but I just had to get it when I found it. Anyone who spends time with Kyler knows his absolute favorite thing is baseball, he drops anything for baseball. He learning to appreciate football since baseball isn't in season but still he asks for baseball. So, this fan was all too fitting and PERFECT for my little "fan".

Croupy Boy

Well, I guess we spoke too soon about how lucky we have been that Kyler hasn't been sick much this winter since he was so sickly last winter. Chalk it up to daycare. He has the croup. Mama stayed home with him yesterday and Daddy stayed home with him today and will again tomorrow. Boy did he enjoy that! But he climbed on me when I got home and didn't let go until bath time. He is having a lot of ups and downs but looks so pathetic. Mandy however, is no worse for the wear and enjoying spending all this time with Mama, Daddy and Bubba. That is what she is calling him now.

Greens and Black-eyed Peas

Daddy may not be a fan but the rest of us sure did enjoy our black-eyed peas and greens on New Year's Day. Daddy choked his down but enjoyed the accompanying chicken and dumplings more. Don't get me wrong they were good too.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today for New Year's lunch we took the kids to see Great Grandma for her birthday...it was a SURPRISE! It worked, she didn't suspect a thing (thanks to Grandpa) and said it was the best surprise. Here she is with her Grandson's, Shawn and Kyle, and Great Grandkids, Kyler, Austin, Alex, Mandy and Gage. We had a wonderful visit. Oh, yeah, we made grandpa get in a picture too. We love you guys.
