Christopher

We don't get pictures like this often, Chris (older) and Nathaniel (younger) are my cousins from Ohio. Kyler LOVES playing with these boys and Mandy follows all three around. We got to spend a little time with them this summer when we went to the Kent family reunion in Tennessee. Last night I got the phone call everyone HATES and FEARS receiving. Chris is in the hospital, Children's Hospital of Columbus. Without going into too much detail PLEASE pray for him and his family today. We love you guys!

Bike Riding Fools!

Even though it is still hot, it isn't nearly as hot as it has been and we will be able to go on more neighborhood rides as the weather cools off. After nap we picked up Austin, Alex, Gage and Aunt Kelly for a bike ride. We are having to retrain the little ones, they don't know the rules about stopping at corners to wait for us and sometimes forget they even have brakes unless the big kids are stopped! All in all a short but fun little outing.

Kyle and Shawn's birthday...

Grammy stuck around after soccer and spent the day with us and we had a great time with her. Well, the big twins are 32 and an impromptu dinner before Whirly Ball turned into the birthday dinner for Kyle, Shawn, me and Kelly since all of our birthdays are within a month of each other. We let the dinner at Benihana's (I don't know if that is even close on spelling) focus on the boys since it was the night to celebrate them. (And we didn't really want to be in the pictures :) ) It was a great dinner and good conversation treated by Gran and Papa. After eating we went to meet up with Uncle Jeremy, Mrs. Christy, Mr. Steven, Steve and Kevin (adopted family) at Whirly Ball. OH what fun! I was really not sure if I wanted to do this until we all got out there, at first I felt like Kyler on the soccer field...Do I get to play too? But once you get into it we had a blast!! Everyone had a good time and played nicely. (A really good thing knowing how competitive our boys are.) Pictures are courtesy of Gran with my camera since she didn't really want to play, she was mostly there for support and to laugh at us, we are really glad she came.

More Soccer...GO Tiger Sharks

For the first time this season Daddy couldn't tell me what the score was...he was too distracted by a not so happy ref who didn't correct the kids on either team! Kyler wasn't at his best, Grammy thinks it was because he isn't feeling his best, all the allergy crud. No matter what he had fun so that is all that matters to us! Grammy came to the game with us and Gran and Papa showed up too! What a great cheering section for the boys!

Beauty Shop

For the last week Mandy has been asking me to do her nails at the most inopportune times...SO...last night we stayed home from Kyler's soccer practice to play beauty shop. She got her hair, nails and makeup done and we took pictures. She was too much fun, especially for a mom who is not really into the girly stuff. However, as soon as she showed the neighbors, Daddy and Bubba (oh, and called Mimi and Maddi-moo) she peeled it ALL off! O well! The process gave us some good Mama Mandy time!

First Fancy Dinner

Last night Paw Paw, Grandma Sarah and Aunt Emma took us out to eat for our birthday dinners at.....REATA's! Yep, my kids got to experience their first fancy dinner and their first trip to downtown! They were GREAT! They loved everything and were on their best behavior to be rewarded with smiley face stickers and a trip to play at Paw Paw's house for a little while before heading home to bed. Mandy finally made it out of the house in the pretty jumper Uncle Rick and Aunt Karen sent her for her birthday...every time before now she had a stain before we were even out the door! She got complimented by the girls welcoming us to the restaurant immediately helping her warm up to the new environment. Kyler was sweet and got complimented to being handsome too. He was so proud of his sticker and then stuck his chest out to let me know "his Mandy" gave him her sticker too! It was very sweet. Thanks for a fabulous birthday dinner Paw Paw and Grandma Sarah, and thanks Aunt Emma for the card and bottle of wine...I LOVE YOU TOO!

Tigersharks win again!

Soccer game number 2 and they win! I know, I know they don't keep score but the team daddies were proud of the win, something like 10+ to 4. The most important part...they had sooo much fun! They got to "play on a team!" as Kyler puts it. He was ancy all the way through Alex's game ready for his turn to play. We even had a hard time keeping him off the team bench. After a while we realized there were A LOT of siblings up there so we let him be.

Who knew...

Soccer moms!

Go Pink!

Yesterday morning before the boy's soccer game we went to see Alex's first soccer game, the first week of the season was a by week for her team and last week got rained out so yesterday was it. I had promised Alex I would be there and we got there just in time to see the first kick! I called as we got close to make sure she knew we were close and she had already informed her mom that it wasn't I was going to try to be there, I was going to be there! That just tickled me pink (just like her jersey). It was fun to be a soccer aunt to start my BUSY day! I am no good at keeping up with the score but I am sure one of the daddies could tell you. She did great and looked like she had a ton of fun. These are my favorite pictures from her game.

Happy Birthday to me!

Yep, I must have been extra good this year....OR maybe I just waited long enough :) Daddy to me to dinner at Texas de Brazil for my birthday last night and he even had a sitter (Thanks Aunt Kelly!). What a wonderful dinner and WAY too much delicious food. When we got back to pick up the kids Aunt Kelly had made a homemade brownie ice cream cake for me!!! She was so thoughtful and I know she had to have played a part in the dinner thing to so thanks to you Kelly!
