1st day of 1st grade!

I can't believe they are starting 1st grade!! I thank God for Kyler and Mandy having an aunt around the corner to catch these pictures for me. As a teacher, i can't make their first days of school...it is heart wrenching sometimes but as hard as it is to let someone else do these things I take comfort in knowing they love him and can do these for me. On that note, Kyler had a great first day of first grade and greeted me at the door full of excitement and stories from his day.

Back to school splash!

Last Sunday we went to our church's Back to School Splash and had a splash of a time! We took Mandy's friend Abby with us and Kyler was a little fish the entire time...it took all I had to get these kiddos out of the water to come home.

And the adventures continue! Last week Aunt Kelly invited us to join her and her friends at one of their favorite little spots for play time. The kids had a great time and we all enjoyed cooling off in the lake becuase it was HOT! Thanks for including us Aunt Kelly.

A day at the lake

Grammy invited the crew to spend a day together at the lake before we all return to school and we had a blast!! Swimming, playing, cooking out...who could ask for more.





And then there was fishing! Daddy caught several fish, one of which they saw and then broke the line....the kids really enjoyed hanging out at the boat house and "feeding" the fish. (throwing snacks into the water) Note Mandy telling Poppy how BIG the fish was that broke her Daddy's line! They crack me up :)

Dressed up Daddy

Mandy wanted oh so badly to see her Daddy in his tux for his friend's wedding and since she wasn't going to be here he promised her a picture. Upon receiving it (via her friend's mom's phone her response was "He looks so hilarious!" Those are quotes people!! We are in for a ride with her.

Yellowjacket escapees...

Apparently we didn't get all the yellowjackets out back as we thought we did! An escapee got Kyler...no, he isn't allergic but it was a very sensitive area. The other stings were gone almost immediately, this one took 4 days to heal!

Alex and Gage

Alex and Gage hung out with us while Austin and Aunt Kelly ran out for a bit, they had a great visit! Alex would smile as soon as I moved the camera away from her...sorry Kelly. Gage would smile but not look at the camera...silly boys. They played and watched some Disney tv...good memories!

Playdate

Harrison, Mackenzie and Abby came over for a playdate and they played hard! That is until the yellowjackets made their appearance in the yard...the dogs are really good wtih the kids now. It only takes Possum a few minutes to calm down these days, she is SLOWLY growing up.

A visit from Megan and Connor

The kids enjoyed a visit from cousins Megan and Connor. I know the pictures aren't fantastic but this is a still as they got! The girls constantly disappeared into Mandy's room and Kyler brought out every remote control vehicle to show Connor and that in itself was hysterical!

I know, I know haven't blogged in a LONG time, but thing have just been crazy. The kids were troopers recovering from their surgeries and missed seeing everyone all the time....they counted down the days until they could play with their friends and cousins again!
