A night to myself?

This hasn't happened since we have had children! However, with Kyle hog hunting tonight and Grammy and Poppy inviting the kids over for a slumber party...I get a night to myself! WOO HOO!

20 February 2008

Apparently I have been tagged...

I guess I can come up with a few things...

1. I can't sleep in socks either Erica, however, for me it is because I can't feel the sheets! I have to be able to feel the sheets. Strange I know.

2. When I hang our laundry I have to have all the shirts facing the same way on the hangers or it drives me bonkers!

3. When I am stressed I reorganize everything I can touch. My house, my classroom, my purse...

4. I still have a monitor in my almost 4 year olds bedroom because I just can't stand to not be able to hear him.

5. I love it when my kids crawl into bed with me in the middle of the night because the need to "nuggle" me.

6. I give my husband a hard time for not helping out sometimes but half of the time I end up redoing it because he does it "wrong"! A perfectionist.

I will try to add more as they come but for now those are my random thoughts.

Mama...

That is what I heard in the middle of the night from Mandy, only this time it wasn't over the monitor and she wasn't crying! She was standing at the entrance to our room. As soon as I said "come here sweetie", she took off towards us in a run! Here we go...I remember this stage with Kyler and once they start coming to you instead of crying out in the night everything changes. Ofcourse, we secretly enjoy it!

Life is one big science experiment...

I forgot to post this from this weekend but while quarantined Kyler learned how to eat his fruit snacks with his toes! It is obvious to me that my children truly need to be OUTSIDE!

Weather Weather Go Away!

I know we need the rain but can't we have it with a little warmer temp? Every year with this weather comes illness in my kiddos...Yes, this morning Mandy woke up with Pink Eye to which Kyler replied, "Look, I got no more Pink eye! Mine is better. Mandy's turn!" Okay, when we teach sharing and taking turns this isn't quite what we had in mind! I am officially ready for this weather to go away.

Valentines 08

This year was a great (and busy) Valentines. We did our Valentine's last night since today was going to be busy with Mama's after school event with her students and then changing and running to our very fun Valentine's Party with "the cousins". The kids played, we all ate, made valentines and visited. It was great! Thanks Aunt Kelly for putting that together.

Caitlin is 13!

Officially a teenager, Caitlin turned 13 on Saturday. We were invited to come celebrate and help with her dance party. Yes, 50 thirteen year olds partying for 4 hours! A long night to say the least but very educational and according to the girls a success. Relieving an anxious mom's heart, Kelli worked very hard to make this special. Matthew, Kyler and Mandy were fabulously behaved all the way through clean up and crashed very hard as soon as they got their jammies on. It was a fantastic weekend and we felt special to be included. Unfortunately, Kyler woke up Saturday morning with what appeared to be an irritate eye...we were hoping it was allergies because he slept in a room that the cat LOVES...not so lucky this morning it was puffy, pink and oozing...PINK EYE! It's our turn now. Thanks to Aunt Kelly having some drops we can use he is already less pink. The pictures of the party will be coming later but for now this is the way our ride home went; nap, potty/snack break, then these pictures....

A visitor...

As I was getting my kids ready to go to the buses from tutoring I hear, "Miss...your cell phone is ringing!" I missed it but called back and it was my Daddy! He was in Waco on his way home and thought he would drop in for a quick visit if it was okay...OFCOURSE it is okay! So, I picked up Sonic and we got here at about the same time. Mandy showed him her dance and Kyler showed him his video game on the BIG TV (Letters on the Loose). They played and snuggled and called Grandma Sarah to say hello. What a treat after a LONG day...anytime PawPaw.

Super Bowl Picnic

Since we are still on lock down, Kyler and I decided to pick up some things for a living room picnic to take home with our groceries to Daddy and Mandy. We laid a blanked out on the floor, made subs and ate chips and dip with a little chocolate to top us off. The kids thought this was a real treat and I must admit so did I. I remember doing these things with my brother and parents just the four of us and how simple but fun it was! Mandy still didn't eat but she sure had a good time telling her brother what to eat next. She mostly dipped her sandwich in her dip and "played" with her food, this is normally a HUGE no no but what the heck it's a picnic right?

A rude awakening...

Yesterday morning Kyler and Mandy woke us up at 5 am throwing up! Yes, you heard right bot at the same time in different rooms, I thought they must have gotten into something but there wasn't anything. Apparently just a virus. By noon I had to call Daddy to come home and be my reinforcement because there was too much to clean up and too many to calm down. They both wanted Mama and neither wanted to share me, not to mention let me go long enough to clean up their lovely mess. By late afternoon Kyler was regaining color but Mandy wasn't done yet, she finally stopped getting sick around 5ish pm. She still isn't eating but her color is returning along with her energy little by little.
