The MADNESS of a working mom and keeping up with the fast paced life of her family of four!

My turn to vent!!!
How is it that people with no insurance get 100% support from the state as they should but people who have insurance in the working middle class get screwed! Our insurance company has told us that our son's 4 year check up is not covered. Since we were told by the internet access that Kyle's info doesn't match their records we got on the phone only to be told that the vaccinations are covered but the doctor's visit isn't!!?? WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO...GIVE HIM THE DAMN SHOTS OURSELVES? In the end we were told to refile the claim, and we have had to do this before since the doctor's office was closed on the weekends and so we couldn't get his 2 year shots until 3 days after his actual birthday!! This is so ABSURD!

Been there done that....there are shots at a free clinics where you only pay for the shots. I've never done but have had friends that have - etc. Or you can file the claim and eventually get paid. Insurance companies are the last to pay. You are blessed that there are no chronic illnesses.
Read the policy....don't listen to anyone on the internet or on the phone - read and find out what is covered. You can request this information from the benefits administrator at your employer(s). Since you both work, both should have coverage on the children - then if one ins. doesn't cover, usually the other picks up the difference. Typically one level of insurance does not pay for wellness check ups but does pay for vaccinations. You can always go to a free clinic for vaccinations. Other levels of insurance (which cost more per month) have wellness coverage. A few days after a birthday does not make that much difference - give or take a week or even a month. I don't believe shots can be damned - you may want to check with your Pastor on that one. Life is way too short - be thankful the children are healthy and happy.
